Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the Product Owner will play a crucial role in working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-value product features that meet our customers’ needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in requirements analysis, an in-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, and a passion for creating user-centric software solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:


• In collaboration with the Product Managers, help define and articulate features for inclusion in release plans for our products.
• Conduct requirements elicitation and analysis, using business techniques such as user interviews and workshops, user persona mapping, story boarding and wireframing.
• Break features agreed in release plans down into clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria to form a backlog of work to be executed by the delivery teams
• Lead the definition of clear acceptance criteria for backlog items with a focus on delivery of business value
• Conduct backlog grooming sessions with the delivery teams, assisting them in prioritization and further break down as necessary
• Participate in scrum ceremonies with the delivery teams and regularly review the business domain and regulatory landscape, feeding new requirements into the product backlog as needed
• Work closely with the Product Management function to shape the product roadmap
• Review, and where necessary conduct independent verification of delivered software features to ensure they meet client expectations.
• Incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders into the product development process, continuously iterating on the product to improve user satisfaction
• Demonstrate new and proposed software features to customers using hands-on demos, prototypes, and mock-ups
• Conduct product webinars for current and prospective customers to showcase new software features
• Communicate new software features to other teams within the business, acting as the interface to the training and customer operations teams once new features have been defined and delivered
• Contribute to both technical and functional documentation creation and review
• Act as the go-to person for questions about the functionality in the software product – know who the experts are in each functional area
• Act as an advocate for the product both internally and externally and seek to engage all company staff with the software product, its purpose and the current development activity

Travel to offices and client sites in the UK, Channel Islands and overseas may be required.

Job Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in product owner, business analyst or requirements analyst roles,
ideally in commercial software development organizations
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum
• Able to effectively prioritize conflicting customer wants and needs
• Able to research, understand and communicate the complex needs of end users
• Able to apply common business analysis techniques such as User Persona Mapping, User Journey Mapping, Client interviews and workshops and user interface mockups
• Able to adapt communication style to the audience to ensure engagement level
